altMother of Egyptian singing star Amr Diab  passed away on

Sunday morning, after struggling with illness in the village of Senhut Sharqiya province, where she lived for most of her life.
Amr's mother was born in Port Said, but left with her husband and son after the 1967 war, and settled in the village of Senhut,  which she refused to leave following the death of her husband.  She spent her time working on charity projects to give help to  the village's population
